Suzannah Zimmet picture


Suzannah Zimmet, MD is the Medical Director of the CEDAR Clinic. She is an expert in diagnostic clarification, and consults with adolescents/young adults and their families at the clinic.

Clinical Interests: Dr. Zimmet is double Board Certified in Child and Adolescent as well as Adult Psychiatry. Her clinical interests include teaching and supervision as well as complex differential diagnostic formulation, and psychopharmacologic, intensive psychotherapy, and wellness-preventative treatment of children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She has a special interest in obsessive compulsive disorder, psychosis, and related problems. Dr. Zimmet is also the co-founder of the PREP® (Prevention and Recovery in Early Psychosis) Program, an affiliated program focused on first episode psychosis intervention, located in a satellite clinic. In addition to providing clinical leadership and supervising psychiatry residents and multidisciplinary trainees, Dr. Zimmet provides direct diagnostic evaluation and ongoing treatment for patients, and their families, struggling with the early stages of psychotic illness.

Academic: Dr. Zimmet has been a member of the Commonwealth Research Center since 1994, and has participated in many clinical trials. She is an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and a 2008 recipient of the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health Commissioner's Distinguished Service Award in Research for her work through the Commonwealth Research Center/ Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in establishing the PREP® Program.
