Ashley Buchanan Nguyen, M.A.

Ashley Buchanan Nguyen, M.A.

Psychology Intern

Ashley Buchanan Nguyen, M.A., M.S.C.P., is a Clinical Fellow at the CEDAR Clinic and the ASPIRE Clinic with clinical appointments at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Massachusetts Mental Health Center (HMS/BIDMC/MMHC). Currently, she provides psychological evaluations, individual, group, and family therapy for individuals and families.

Clinical Interests: Ashley has worked with adolescents and young adults experiencing difficulties in emotion regulation and psychotic spectrum disorders across a variety of outpatient settings. She interested in the experience of psychosis across the lifespan and has devoted years to understanding individual and interpersonal predictors of health outcomes for individuals experiencing severe and persistent mental illness. Ashley works from a developmental approach, utilizing trauma-informed and evidence-based therapies (e.g., CBT-p, DBT and ACT for psychosis), to provide recovery-oriented and culturally-sensitive care.

Academic: Ashley earned their undergraduate degree in Psychology at Rice University, master’s in Clinical Psychology/Psychology in Education from Teachers College Columbia University, and is currently a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology at Baylor University. Ashley is currently a Clinical Fellow completing her predoctoral internship at HMS/BIDMC/MMHC with goals to specialize in psychosis across the lifespan.
